Threads of Resurrection

Threads of Resurrection begins from a personal moment of dislocation; being in London and not knowing how to name myself. When I closed my eyes, what came back were the streets of my city; Indigenous women in vivid clothing, present yet often unseen within the gaze of mestizo culture.

The work brings together steel and handwoven threads as a way of holding this tension. It does not preserve memory intact; it shows how ancestral knowledge is reshaped under pressure; fragmented, displaced, yet still present.

The structure moves between rupture and persistence; what is carried does not return as it was. It is reformed, reconfigured, and held in a state that never fully resolves.
