Becoming Native

Becoming Native is a pictorial series by Ecuadorian artist Susana Uvidia that reimagines belonging through fragmented forms. Figures emerge among vibrant fields of colour and fractured silhouettes: bodies suspended between rupture and adaptation. The work reflects on how displaced identities make their way in unfamiliar cultural landscapes, reconstructing personal and collective memories in the constant search for belonging. Each composition evokes loss and reinvention to chart the fragile yet persistent process of rerooting.
