Light in Dark Time
Light in Dark Time was made during the uncertainty of COVID; when distance, fear, and not knowing what would happen became part of daily life. Being far from my family, the question of loss felt close, constant, unresolved.
The photograph centres on a diamond form; drawn from an Indigenous belief linked to protection, strength, and the possibility of restoring balance. It becomes a way of holding onto something when certainty is no longer available.
Threads extend outward under tension; fragile, but still connected. The work holds onto a quiet form of hope; not as resolution, but as something that persists even in isolation.
