Before Answering

Language splits. Two worlds collide.
A sudden silence opens within the mind.

Before Answering (2026) is a contemporary painting series by Susana Uvidia. Acrylic and thread on canvas map the pause before speech to investigate suspended states of belonging and psychological thresholds.

A vertical yellow thread hangs suspended over a dense, dark blue acrylic field.

A straight golden thread slices vertical through a gestural purple and blue painting

a single dark vertical thread bisects a luminous, textured yellow and ochre canvas.
