Threads of Resurrection

This work was born from a moment of rage when, upon moving to Madrid, I was told that Spain had "taught us to speak, think, and be self-sufficient." The statement erased centuries of Indigenous knowledge, as if mestizaje was a void rather than a fusion of civilisations. In Threads of Resurrection, I weld steel rods to create a framework that supports woven threads— symbolising Indigenous resistance and the persistence of pre-colonial wisdom. The thread, fragile yet unbreakable, reclaims power to transforme a colonial narrative into one of resilience and defiance.
